Description
First things first: I intended to do a painting for the Mannequin contest but when I got out of my frenzy I somehow came up with this and decided to stick with itThis means the image is created without any specific purpose or goal.
Second things second: I've been in doubt about posting this, because it looks nothing like the original. I have to point out this is a photograph of the original piece. Couldn't manage to scan
Wish you could see the original piece but decided to share this with you anywhow. So any crit or comment is appreciated
Sketch, Acrylics (palet knife, brush) & colored brush pen's on cardboard. Original size 360mm x 485mm.

Nice, Ingrid. Espescially the monsters are great. Good job on the ruggid paint and colors. The only thing this needs is some solidness. You could strengthen the outlines of the girl and the monsters a little with a red colored pencil. That way you'll stabilise some stuff and separate it from the busy background.
+8

I am not willing to make your ego burst, but this style is very nice...
one tiny question, how did u do the background? just layer over layer?
02/01/06 @803
The background was made with a palette knife. I rubbed the knife in with thick paint and smeared the paint out on the cardboard. This way the three colors blended directly on the surface. Than again it's just smearing and rubbing 'till you like it. And than you can decide to put another layer over it, I did indeed. But the layers I used were not of just one color.
